Trip to Nature in Art
| To kick start our learning project, we had a
visit to Naure in Art in Twigworth and found out about some fantastic
sculptures. We saw lots of different materials used for sculptures
which gave us plenty of ideas on how to create our own.
As a result of this visit, Nature in Art displayed the sculptures
made by the children in Key Stage 2 over the Easter period.
| | | Spirituality Day
Water was the theme for this successful day.
We had batik, music making, mosaic, drawing and weaving activities
going on throughout the day. The weaving can be seen on the school
fence if you stand on the village green. The prayer flags and bible pictures that the children created were
on display on church during the Easter period and were much admired. | | | | | PGL Residential Trip
Key Stage 2 went on a residential PGL Trip to
Hillcrest. Despite very heavy rain, they all had a fantastic time and
enjoyed lots of new activities, as you can see from the photos!

May Day on the Green
A
great big thank you to Grace H, Leah, Rosie, Abi, Abigail, Sophie,
Ellie, Lexie, Thomas, Charlotte, Olivia, Courtney and Grace P for their
fantastic involvement in the Maypole dancing. The collaboration with
the Women’s Institute was a huge success, hopefully raising money
towards a new a bench on the Green. Our children have some super ideas
as to what this bench should look like! The event could not have
happened without the expertise of Mrs. Vince and Mrs. West
so we are grateful for their input too. Less
than a day after the maypole dancing we had a request from the WI that
this becomes an annual event! They particularly praised the children
and staff for their efforts and enjoyed the fact that it was “reviving
an old tradition in a village setting and bringing together all the
community” which was “something very special”. The main issue in all of
this is that we hired the maypole and would not maybe be as fortunate
for it to be available again on such a key day in the maypole dancing
year
| Easter Celebrations

We ended the Spring term with an Easter service in church, led by Mr Charles Whitney and Mr Richard Wall.
The children sang beautifully - especially "There is a green hill far away" which they had been practising.
The theme of the service was rebirth, with a focus on baptism. This
has helped to prepare us for our Summer learning topic which was
connected to water
| Ashleworth Cheerleaders

Did you see us on the news? Miss Nadin organised a trip to Esporta
health and Racquets Club in Brockworth. Some of us had a go at
cheerleading with Miss Nadin and were filmed by the BBC! It was very
exciting! Some of the boys had fun learning tennis!
